Please go through the following steps :
 | Try manually dialling from the same line you are trying to use for your laptop or PDA device. |
 | If you get no answer at the number or the number does not work, please try another number in the dialler. |
 | If a computer tone is heard (like a fax tone), then the number is working. |

You may have to switch off 'Wait for dial tone before dialling'
Other reasons can include:
- You may need a switch to connect the modem to the handset interface, and allow the to perform the analog-to-digital conversion.
- Incorrect cable / adapter
- Modem problems (please contact your PC vendor).
- Your computer may be dialling too quickly for the hotel's switchboard to recognise the request for an external line
- insert a comma after the number, which you are dialling to access an outside line.
