Poor line connection

The connection speed you receive when accessing the Internet is very dependent on the quality of the telephone circuit between your modem and the modem on the ISP side.

It is well known that the connections in many hotels and certain overseas locations are either of poor quality or systematically "restricted" which makes the Modem operate at lower speeds.

Most locations provide for access at a minimum speed of 28,800bps, but this speed can sometimes not even be reached depending on the telecommunication network in the country of usage.

In case of unusual audible disturbance in the connection, you should disconnect and redial the local access number.

When connecting your equipment to the telephone line, ensure that the fitting is firm and the wire has sufficient slack to stay in place.

Disturbances on account of a loose connection will sometimes cause your line to be slow and continuously drop or disconnect.

The solution is to check and ensure a good fitting of the connection and redial the local access number.
